Event Booking Terms

Terms for tickets, reservations and event bookings at Blues Bar Cogenhoe.

01

About These Terms

These Event Booking Terms apply to tickets, reservations and bookings for events promoted or operated by Blues Bar at Cogenhoe United Football Club, Compton Park, Brafield Road, Cogenhoe, Northampton, NN7 1ND.

Additional event-specific conditions may apply and will be stated on the relevant event listing, booking page or ticket confirmation.

By making a booking or purchasing a ticket, the person making the booking agrees to these Terms and any clearly stated event-specific conditions.

02

Event Bookings and Club Membership

An event booking, reservation or ticket purchase is separate from Club membership.

Purchasing a ticket does not:

  • make somebody a member of Cogenhoe United Football Club;
  • create membership rights;
  • bypass the Club's membership application process;
  • bypass the minimum membership waiting period; or
  • guarantee approval of a future membership application.
Where somebody wishes to become a Club member, they must use the separate membership application process.

03

Event Guest Admission

For a qualifying named organised event, a non-member may be admitted as an Event Guest after completing the required booking.

Event Guest admission applies only to the named event and expires after it. It does not provide general bar access, membership privileges, voting rights or ongoing guest status.

Paid event charges are for the event booking, not a membership fee. Free Event Guest bookings still create a capacity-controlled booking and attendance record.

An Event Guest is not a member or any form of short-term member and will not receive a CUFC membership number or membership card.

04

Different Types of Events

Blues Bar may hold events under different admission and licensing arrangements.

Depending on the particular event, admission may be restricted to Club Members and Bona Fide Guests or may be available more widely where the event is operated under an appropriate authorisation, such as a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) or other applicable licensing authorisation.

The relevant event listing and booking arrangements will determine who may attend.

Purchasing a ticket does not itself turn a member of the public into a Club member or bona fide guest.

05

Members and Guests

Where an event is operated for Club Members and Bona Fide Guests, the applicable Club membership and guest arrangements must be followed.

Guests may be required to identify their host member and register through the Club's Guest Register.

A ticket does not override those requirements.

Where the event is separately authorised for public admission, attendees do not need to be described as Club guests merely because they have purchased a ticket.

06

Event Information

The Club will take reasonable steps to provide accurate event information.

This may include:

  • event title;
  • date;
  • venue;
  • doors/opening time;
  • start time;
  • expected finish time;
  • ticket price;
  • age guidance;
  • admission arrangements;
  • accessibility information;
  • booking status; and
  • any event-specific requirements.
Customers should check the latest event information before travelling.

07

Ticket Availability

Tickets and reservations are subject to availability.

An event may have a maximum capacity determined by:

  • fire-safety arrangements;
  • licensing requirements;
  • event layout;
  • seating arrangements;
  • safeguarding considerations; or
  • other operational requirements.
The Club may stop sales before the advertised booking deadline where capacity has been reached.

08

Booking Confirmation

A booking is not confirmed until the required booking process has been completed and confirmation has been issued by the Club or applicable ticket provider.

Customers should check their confirmation carefully and contact the Club or ticket provider promptly if they believe an error has occurred.

09

Ticket Providers

Some events may use an external ticketing provider.

Where this happens, the provider may have its own:

  • booking terms;
  • privacy notice;
  • transaction fees;
  • ticket-delivery arrangements; and
  • refund procedures.
Customers should review the relevant provider's terms before completing the purchase. Where an external provider processes the payment, the Club may not hold full payment-card information.

10

Ticket Prices

The applicable ticket price will be displayed before purchase.

Different prices may apply where appropriate, including Member price, Guest price, Public/general admission price or other clearly stated ticket categories.

A purchaser must not deliberately select a membership-discounted ticket unless the person entitled to use the ticket satisfies the applicable membership requirement.

Membership status may be verified.

11

Payment

Where payment is required, a ticket or booking will normally not be confirmed until payment has been successfully completed.

Payments may be processed by the Club or an approved third-party provider.

Customers are responsible for checking the amount before confirming payment.

12

Tickets and Booking References

Customers should keep their ticket, QR code, booking reference or confirmation available for admission.

The Club may require reasonable verification before allowing entry.

A ticket or booking reference should not be copied, duplicated or used fraudulently.

Where the same ticket or identifier is presented more than once, the Club may investigate and refuse duplicate use.

13

Transfers and Resale

Unless an event listing expressly permits it, tickets must not be commercially resold for profit.

Where a customer wishes to transfer a ticket to another person, they should follow any transfer process provided by the Club or ticketing provider.

The Club may refuse tickets which it reasonably believes have been obtained or resold fraudulently or contrary to applicable booking conditions.

14

Age Restrictions

Some events may have age restrictions or guidance. These will be stated where applicable.

Where alcohol is available, the Club operates Challenge 25. Anyone who appears under 25 may be asked for acceptable photographic identification when purchasing alcohol.

An event being described as suitable for all ages does not remove requirements concerning supervision of children or alcohol sales.

15

Children and Young People

Where children are permitted to attend, they must be appropriately supervised in accordance with Club policy and any event-specific conditions.

Parents, guardians and responsible adults remain responsible for appropriate supervision unless a particular organised Club activity expressly provides otherwise.

The Club's safeguarding arrangements remain applicable.

16

Admission

Possession of a valid ticket does not create an unconditional right of admission.

Admission remains subject to:

  • the event's stated admission basis;
  • valid booking/ticket verification;
  • capacity;
  • age restrictions;
  • Club Rules;
  • licensing requirements;
  • safeguarding;
  • safety requirements; and
  • reasonable conditions of entry.

17

Refusal of Admission

The Club may reasonably refuse admission where necessary, including where a person:

  • does not hold a valid ticket or booking where one is required;
  • cannot satisfy an applicable membership/guest requirement;
  • does not meet an age restriction;
  • is seriously intoxicated;
  • behaves aggressively, threateningly or abusively;
  • presents a safety or safeguarding concern;
  • attempts to bring prohibited items or unauthorised alcohol onto the premises;
  • attempts to misuse another person's membership or ticket; or
  • materially breaches applicable Club or event conditions.
Any refund entitlement will be considered in accordance with the Club's Refunds & Cancellations Policy and applicable law.

18

Conduct During Events

Attendees must behave responsibly and show appropriate respect towards:

  • staff;
  • volunteers;
  • performers;
  • officials;
  • other attendees;
  • players;
  • neighbours; and
  • Club property.
Violent, threatening, discriminatory, abusive, dangerous or seriously disruptive behaviour will not be accepted. Reasonable instructions from authorised Club personnel must be followed.

19

Alcohol

Alcohol will only be supplied in accordance with the licensing authorisation applying to the event and applicable Club procedures.

The Club reserves the right to refuse alcohol service where appropriate.

Outside alcohol must not be brought onto or consumed at the premises unless expressly authorised by the Club.

20

Security and Safety

For some events the Club may introduce additional safety or security arrangements.

These may include:

  • bag checks;
  • additional stewarding/security;
  • controlled entry points;
  • restricted areas;
  • capacity controls; or
  • additional conditions appropriate to the event.
Attendees must comply with reasonable safety instructions.

21

Accessibility

Anyone who requires information about accessibility or a reasonable venue adjustment is encouraged to contact the Club before attending.

The Club will consider reasonable requests concerning matters such as:

  • step-free access;
  • seating;
  • parking;
  • access arrangements; or
  • another relevant adjustment.
Further information is available in the Club's Accessibility information.

22

Event Timings

Doors, start and finish times may occasionally change.

Customers should check the latest event listing before travelling.

Reasonable minor timetable changes do not necessarily amount to cancellation of the event.

23

Performers and Programme Changes

Where an event includes performers, entertainers, speakers or other programme elements, reasonable changes may occasionally be necessary because of circumstances outside the Club's control.

Where a change materially alters the essential nature of the event, the Club will consider appropriate arrangements in accordance with its Refunds & Cancellations Policy and applicable rights.

24

Cancelled Events

Where Blues Bar cancels an event, customers will be informed as soon as reasonably practicable using available contact information and/or website/social channels.

Refund or transfer arrangements will be handled in accordance with the Club's Refunds & Cancellations Policy and, where applicable, the external ticket provider's arrangements.

25

Postponed or Rescheduled Events

Where an event is postponed or rescheduled, customers will be informed of the new arrangements.

Depending on the circumstances, options may include:

  • retaining the booking for the new date;
  • transferring to another event;
  • receiving credit where offered; or
  • receiving a refund where appropriate.
The precise arrangements will depend on the event and applicable booking/refund terms.

26

Customer Unable to Attend

Unless otherwise stated for a particular event, tickets are normally non-refundable where the event proceeds as advertised but the customer is personally unable to attend.

For member-booked team/table events, the booking person accepts the following event-specific term before payment: Team/table bookings are non-refundable if the customer cancels or is unable to attend. If Blues Bar cancels or materially reschedules the event, the applicable refund or transfer arrangements will be offered.

This remains subject to applicable legal rights and any more favourable event-specific terms.

27

Photography and Recording

Photography or recording may take place at some Club events. Where appropriate, attendees will be informed.

The Club will take particular care in relation to children, young people and safeguarding requirements.

Professional or commercial filming/recording by attendees requires prior permission unless expressly permitted.

28

Event Photography by Attendees

Attendees taking personal photographs should respect the privacy and safety of other people.

Photography or recording must stop where reasonably requested by authorised Club personnel for safeguarding, privacy, performer-rights or safety reasons.

29

Personal Property

Attendees are responsible for their personal belongings.

The Club is not responsible for loss, theft or damage except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Any lost property handed to the Club will be managed in accordance with its normal procedures.

30

Parking and Travel

Where parking is available, vehicles must be parked responsibly and in accordance with Club signs or instructions.

Event tickets do not guarantee a particular parking space unless expressly stated.

Customers should allow sufficient time for travel and parking.

31

Events at Compton Park

Attendees should be aware that Compton Park is an active football and community site.

Certain areas may be unavailable or restricted because of football, grounds maintenance, safeguarding, safety or another Club activity.

Visitors must follow signs and reasonable instructions while on site.

32

Force Majeure and Events Outside Our Control

Circumstances outside the Club's reasonable control may affect an event. Examples can include:

  • severe weather;
  • utility failure;
  • emergency incidents;
  • performer illness;
  • government or regulatory restrictions;
  • safety concerns; or
  • other exceptional circumstances.
The Club will take reasonable steps to communicate material changes and deal with affected bookings fairly. Nothing in these Terms limits rights which cannot lawfully be excluded.

33

Data Protection

Personal information associated with bookings and events will be handled in accordance with the Club's Privacy Notice.

Information may be used where reasonably necessary to:

  • administer bookings;
  • process payments;
  • communicate event information;
  • manage admission;
  • process refunds;
  • maintain appropriate records; and
  • protect the security and operation of the event.
Optional marketing remains separate from essential event communications.

34

Marketing

Purchasing a ticket does not automatically subscribe somebody to marketing.

Where the Club invites attendees to receive future event announcements or Club news, the applicable marketing choice will be presented separately.

35

Relationship With Club Membership

A public event attendee remains a public event attendee where the event is authorised for public admission.

A guest remains a guest where attending under the Club's guest arrangements.

A member remains a member subject to their membership status.

These categories must not automatically convert into one another simply because somebody has booked or attended an event.

36

Applicable Policies

These Event Booking Terms should be read alongside relevant:

37

Changes to These Terms

The Club may update these Event Booking Terms where reasonably necessary.

The version applying to a booking should normally be the version in force when the booking was made, subject to any change required by law or necessary for safety/licensing purposes.

Material changes affecting an existing booking will be communicated where reasonably practicable.
